NEW BOARD MEMBERS
Encintas Soccer League announces a new President, Competitive VP, Treasurer, Secretary, VP of Operations and a new Micro Soccer Czar.  Rick Lochner has assumed the President's role from Mike Walsh, who helmed the club for the last three years.  Thanks Mike!  Ingram Losner is our new Competitive VP.  Both Ingram and Rick have had children in the Express and Rec portions of the club.  John Miller is our new Treasurer, with outgoing Treasurer Don Falkner mentoring him through the transition.  The club is grateful to both.  Finally, Geoff Miller has come aboard as Secretary.  Kent Coykendall, who spearheaded our Park Dale Lane field project last year (and watered it much of the summer), is our new VP of Operations, while Jon Sevison is the new Micro Soccer Czar.  He'll shepherd our new parent coaches in the micro soccer program and takes over for Matt D'Alessandro, who steps into the Executive VP role.

NEW EXPRESS COACHES
Allie Sullivan,Sheila Clarke, Kim Hoban and Anna Gerber have joined the Encinitas Soccer League as coaches.  Allie played at Cal and played professionally for both the Boston Breakers and San Diego Spirit.  She will be co-coaching a U10 girls team with Sheila Clarke, a 4-year player for the UCSD Tritons.  Kim Hoban, a former Stanford player who once coached Julie Foudy, will coach another U10 girls team.  Anna Gerber brings a Midwest flavor to the club, as she was a four-year starter at Ohio State.  Many of her teammates our coaching at the collage level and she hopes to leverage some of these relationships for club members.  Also new to the Express side is Rob Gunness.  He will be coaching a U8 girls team.  He has been coaching for several years and was twice Player of the Year in Arizona.

Juli VeeeJuli Veee and the armed services YMCA host benefit soccer clinic for children at Camp Pendleton

On Saturday, June 5, 2004 Juli Veee, former San Diego Sockers superstar, partnered with the Armed Services YMCA to host with great pride a complimentary soccer clinic for children at Camp Pendleton. Over 80 children between the ages of 5 and 18 signed up for this one of a kind clinic. Juli wanted to hold this clinic in support of the military and the numerous sacrifices that their families make in service to our country. Other professional San Diego Sockers players joined in on the fun showing the young soccer players new moves and how improve their current techniques. Among the San Diego Sockers present were: Mariano Bolleella, Paul Wright, Matt Johnson and Ben Collins. Former Chargers star, Quinn Early, joined in the festivities and provided Q-Pro Rehydration beverages to all attendees.

Each child received a uniquely designed T-shirt and soccer ball. Sponsors for the event were Chelsea Investment Corporation, Mariposa Apartments at Calavera Hills, Brookfield Homes, The Corky McMillin Companies, Q-Pro Products, Encinitas Soccer League, and the San Diego Sockers.

Hall Property-Soccer Fields

A plan for the Hall Property has been submitted to the city council that includes five multi-sport fields that would allow for five full-size soccer fields, or four full-size fields and two small-size fields. We are now waiting the Environmental Impact Report to be amended with a Global Warming Impact amendment.  This review process is currently slated to be completed in spring 2008, though timelines have been of little value on this project. Encinitas Soccer League is solidly in support of the contstruction of the park as it is currently designed. There is a distinct shortage of fields, especially lighted fields, in the city.
