Encinitas Soccer League is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and has served the communities of Encinitas, South Carlsbad and Cardiff for almost 30 years by providing quality soccer programs for children ages 5 to 19 years old. Over 1800 children participate in our program each year. Encinitas Express is a US Youth Soccer approved club and a Cal South affiliate competing in Southern California’s District 2.
Encinitas Express is a soccer community that strives to develop players who define success by the level of effort, passion, and teamwork they display both on and off the field.
Encinitas Express is committed to being a high quality, community-based soccer organization that supports the development of players of all ages and abilities to their maximum potential by focusing on "total" player growth. Our dedicated and knowledgeable coaching staff partners with our parent community to provide the positive environment needed to promote the development of soccer skills and ability, self-esteem, character, and love of the game in all our players.
Express competitive teams play league games in the fall but participate actively in pre-season (summer) and post-season tournaments (winter) as well as Cal South State and National Cups. Teams compete in San Diego’s Presidio League and San Diego Developmental Academy (SDDA) as well as the Southern California Developmental Soccer League (SCDSL) and are coached by high quality, professional soccer coaches. The competitive soccer program is guided by our Technical Director, Guy Newman. Guy has an extensive soccer resume that includes playing and coaching at the professional level. Express recreational teams start their league play in September and compete through November, playing an average of 10-11 games. Teams form in the summer and begin to practice in August. Our recreational program works closely with Los Angelitos de Encinitas to provide financial aid to families who require assistance. There are no tryouts and teams are built around neighborhoods and schools. Recreational All-Star teams are formed in late November and participate in two tournaments in the December and early January time frame. Recreational teams are coached by dedicated, parent-volunteer coaches and All-Star teams are coached by Express's professional coaching staff.
