Liam is very excited to be starting his coaching career with Express Soccer Club. Youth soccer can have a key impact in youth development and he wants to make sure that soccer brings smiles to kid’s faces. He played most youth sports growing up, but was truly passionate about soccer. He spent most of his soccer career playing for Express starting at the age of 7 with a couple stints away at LA Galaxy San Diego towards the end of his club career. He is currently a human development major at Cal State San Marcos and because of it not only does he want to help improve youth’s soccer skills and increase love for the sport, but also be a support system for emotional and mental development as well. He has lived in Encinitas his whole life and because of soccer, it has brought him only happiness and positivity which he wants to spread to other youth players.
As a coach, working with youth creating an environment where everyone feels welcomed is important. Once that is created I can concentrate on not only improving physical abilities and skills, but mental and emotional wellness as well. Quote I hold dear to me: “Young players need freedom of expression to develop as creative players. They should be encouraged to try skills without fear of falling.” -Arsene Wenger
