Our new World Cup winter session is a way for all young soccer players to participate in a fun and positive soccer environment utilizing the professional coaching staff. This program gives boys and girls the opportunity to take part in a unique league where they can imagine they play for international teams such as Brazil, England, Germany, Italy, France, USA and others in the greatest tournament in the world. Young players not only learn about the history of the World Cup and its players while learning skills and playing, they are also taught the geography of the world, by introducing far away countries and their passions and history.
The one-hour sessions are divided into 30 minutes of soccer activities followed by 30 minutes of 4 vs. 4 mini games of country versus country, all under the tutelage of one of our professional coaches, in a player: coach ratio of 12:1. The Junior World Cup will commence on MAY 9 and run every Sunday for 5 weeks (excluding May 30). Location is at Berkich Park/Cardiff Elementary School. There are three age appropriate sessions each week.
- The 5 and 6 year olds play from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.,
- 7 and 8 year olds from 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
- 9 to 11 year olds attend from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The registration fee for the 5-week session is $85 and includes a t-shirt. The t-shirt will be of a color related to the country they are playing for and the youngsters are encouraged to draw the country’s Federation Badge on the front and a number of their hero and his name or their name on the back of the shirt. Players should wear shorts, soccer cleats and must have shin guards and bring a water bottle. Parents are encouraged to hang out and be ‘World Cup fans”. Registration is limited.
